The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) invalidated the examination results in two subjects of the Civil Engineer Licensure Examinations conducted on November 17 and 18 due irregularities.
In PRC’s official announcement dated November 26, the commission voided the exam results of the Hydraulics and Geotechnical Engineering and Structural Engineering and Construction portions given by the Board of Civil Engineering.
“After evaluation of the examination result in the subject Hyrdaulics and Geotechnical Engineering, PRC finds the same to be “statistically improbable” considering the unusually high grade/rating obtained by examinees,” the PRC announcement said. (more…)
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Trade Regulation and Consumer Protection under Dir. Victorio Mario A. Dimagiba announces that 717 out of 1,272 equivalent to 56.4% passed the Real Estate Brokers Licensure Examination given by the Board of Examiners for Real Estate Brokers in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Lucena on November 25, 2007.
The members of the Board of Examiners for Real Estate Brokers who gave the licensure examination are REB Buenaventura V. Fulgencio, REB Elizabeth P. Villareal and REB Luis Melchor V. Serquiña. Successful examinees should personally register and secure their license from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be announced by the Bureau of Trade Regulation and Consumer Protection. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 5 out of 6 examinees have successfully passed the Licensure Examinations for Marine Deck Officers given by the Board for Marine Deck Officers in July 2002 Practical Phase and the Written Phase in November 2007.
The members of the Board for Marine Deck Officers who gave the licensure examinations are Capt. Jaime D. Aquino Vice-Chairman; Capt. Benjamin M. Katipunan Jr., Capt. Mike L. Castro and Capt. Ireneo U. Delos Santos, Members. Registration for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Cards will start on Monday, December 3, 2007 until December 28, 2007. Those who will register are required to bring the following: latest Community Tax Certificate; 3 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background) with appropriate shoulder boards, and 1 piece 1″ x 1″ picture, metered documentary stamps worth P45, and 1 long clear envelope; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P750 for 2007-2012. The members of the Board for Librarians who gave the licensure examination are Corazon M. Nera, Chairman; Elizabeth R. Peralejo and Elnora L. Conti, Members. Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 but not later than December 21, 2007. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 1 piece 1″ x 1″ picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2007-2010. No. 9246, otherwise known as the “Philippine Librarianship Act of 2003″.
Registration for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card will start on December 5, 2007 but not later than December 21, 2007. Those who will register are required to bring the following: Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and one brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the following: Examination Fee of 900.00; Registration Fee of P600.00 and Annual Registration Fee of P450.00 for 2007-2010; and to personally register and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals. Smart Broadband, Inc. recently launched it’s new product for wireless broadband access. It’s an extension of SmartBro product. But instead of using the Canopy-based system to connect to the internet, the new service will utilize the mobile network’s High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) service.
The new service, dubbed as “Plug It, is a USB-based modem that can easily be plugged to a laptop or a desktop computer. According to the press release given by Smart, the new service will operate at the 384 to 768 kps speeds. According to Abe of Yugatech, Smart is being careful with the speeds they promise to the public since Smart Telecoms., Inc. has not yet covered the whole country with HSPDA infrastructure. Thus, they gave the users the rated speed for 3G systems.
