Filed under: Uncategorized — Batang Yagit @ 11:09 am

Yahoo! My 2-month old blog (PulseCircle Tech-niques) made to the list of the Mindanao’s Top 100 Blogs for 2007 as Top 92. Not bad at all… Heheh..

The blogs’ ranking were based on the data taken from technorati and feedburner. Mind you, Di ako nakaregister sa Technorati at mag wa-one month old pa Feedburner ko. Bwahahaha!

To Mindanao Bloggers, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

In addition, My Friendster profile viewed almost 350 times this December 2007. The highest this year. Hahahaha!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY ONE!

The Top 100 Mindanao Blogs

Filed under: Uncategorized — Batang Yagit @ 9:53 am
Several bloggers in Manila have published their own versions of the top blogs in the Philippines. Most of them are using blog juice as a basis for ranking the blogs. While talking over coffee with Ate Ria and Kuya Blogie, we came up with the idea of making a list for Mindanao bloggers. Since we have a reliable source of registered blogs in Mindanao, we thought of using it as reference in determining whose blogs are qualified for the list.

Yesterday, I started working on the idea on how to rank the blogs.
  1. Use Blog Juice - the idea seems to be good since TLA has this application which can calculate the blog's blog juice. The bottom line, you have to input each blog url and set its category in order to get its blog juice.

  2. Use Ratified Rank - Ratified.org uses PR, Technorati and Feedburner data to rank the top 100 blogs in the Philippines. Ratified.org is updated everyday and keeps a fresh record of the blog's statistics. The catch, not all mindanao blogs use ratified. Second, most of the blogs listed on the top100 blogs are from Luzon. Lastly, Kuya Andrew (the owner) is in Bohol for his family reunion.

  3. Use a new ranking system - This is the final option left for me, to create a new ranking system for the top 100 blogs. The idea seems to be difficult at first but I was able to plan my algorithm. I can utilize technorati and feedburner APIs to get the blogs popularity (rank and subscribers). I created an application which runs through the list from Mindanao Bloggers Directory and sends out queries to technorati and feedburner. The formula I used is this: 40% for feedburner, 55% for technorati unique blog links, 5% for total technorati links.
The list is available at Mindanao Bloggers. Congratulations to those who made it in the top 100.

I'm planning on doing a resume service for next year. It seems like a good project.

Lips of an Angel lyrics by Hinder

Filed under: Uncategorized — Nitrosaint @ 12:07 pm

Honey why you calling me so late
It’s kinda hard to talk right now
Honey why you crying is everything okay
I gotta whisper cause I can’t be too loud
Well, my girl’s in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It’s really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

It’s funny that you’re calling me tonight
And yes I dreamt of you too
And does he know you’re talking to me
Will it start a fight
No I don’t think she has a clue
Well my girl’s in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It’s really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

It’s really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
(And I never wanna say goodbye)
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

Honey why you calling me so late

How to Save a Life lyrics by The Fray

Filed under: Uncategorized — Nitrosaint @ 12:05 pm

Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it’s just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you’ve told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you’ve followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he’ll say he’s just not the same
And you’ll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
(Repeat Chorus)

An amicable activity

Filed under: Uncategorized — Batang Yagit @ 3:44 pm

Under our MCI training, Doc C discussed and trained us matters on how to be basic responders in a mass casualty incident- performing CPR, using the portable AED, blood and wound management. We also talked about nosebleed, choking, insects and animal bites management and a lot more.

Those of us at a safe distance watched the televised images like drivers and passengers slowing at a highway accident, stampede, earthquake, typhoon, chemical explosions, fire, bombing that all have taken scores of lives and caused millions and billions of damage, thinking That would have been me, my family, the community. These are some of many concerns. Therefore, everyone should be trained as basic responders to save lives. Someone’s life will be directly impacted by your intervention.

I learned a lot from the discussions. From how to treat wounded/ injured victims, who should be prioritized first, first aids, performing CPR with AED and a lot more.

I was able to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation or CPR through a provided dummy. Just for your information, CPR is a technique of basic life support for the purpose of oxygenating the heart and brain until it backs into normal. This is done for those suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest. I also learned that it is necessary to clear first any airway obstructions like the tip of the tongue or a tooth before CPR can be performed. Learning that weren’t in my mind. Hmmmm… Where might these important informations be? So I did something this morning I’ve rarely done. I opened my manual of nursing and started to read.

I’m also amazed with the Automated External Defibrillator or AED. There’s an audio and visual instructions from the unit that analyze the rhythm and determine the need for defibrillator. It will let you or  the operator know how to proceed. Unlike any usual Defibrillator, AED is portable. It is really highly needed especially in mass incident.

In order to apply our learnings, we conducted a scenario of an accident. It looks like an actual scene. There are wounded/injured, amputated body parts, crying, asking for help. And we acted as responders.

In summary, it was an unforgettable experience.

Pasko ni Batang Yagit

Filed under: Uncategorized — Batang Yagit @ 9:06 am

  • Masaya ang charity work.

  • The older you get, the slimmer the chances of getting gifts. Having your family around is more than enough.

Kung hindi mo feel ang cold image ng pasko, then go for a summer theme. Yun ang ginawa namin. Dalawang araw akong nasa tubig dagat. Yung una, nag-island hopping in Samal kami. Introduction lang. Masakit pala sa tainga. Mas masakit kaysa sa pressure sa eroplano. Pero masaya naman. First time.
